Welcome! I created this blog so that my friends/family and I could talk about our experiences, fear, and excitement of our current pregnancies. I hope you all enjoy talking to each other and find that keeping each other updated will help us be awesome moms!

I have a couple pregnancy exercise videos that I do - but with 2 jobs and a 4 year old, I only manage to do them twice a week. One is Denise Austin; it's only 30 minutes. The other is Leisa Hart (the Buns of Steel lady), and it's a lot of fun because it has a dancing section. The whole tape is nearly an hour, but I just do tht salsa half (and skip the yoga/pilates part). My son does them with me - and I daresay he'll have the strongest uterus in Pre-K! If any of you would like to borrow them to try them out, just let me know!
I also try to do Kegels throughout the day. Not that I'm always successful, but I try to do 10 sets a day. I did them with my first pregnancy - and it could have just been a coincidence, but 'that area' healed nicely with no complications after the birth, even with an episotomy. That was a relief!
Kara,
Thanks for the exercise video tips. I love to walk because it really helps stretch my legs, but the weather (with the exception of today) has not always allowed me to walk. When I was at the mall this weekend, I saw two ladies walking for exercise. This gave me some hope for the month of February - when I know that I will want to get out of the house to walk - so I think that will be a great place for me and baby Will to go to get some exercise. :) I think I will also get a workout video.
And - did you say 2 jobs?
You might also want to check out local schools. I live in Auburn, and our elementary school offers an 'early walkers' program where they open the doors to the school at 6am and let folks walk the halls til 7:30am. They started it with senior citizens in mind, but people of all ages take advantage of it. It's free, although you have to get a background check before you start.
And yes, I did say 2 jobs. But I don't recommend it because it makes for really long days! I also work at my son's day care before and after my job here. I help serve breakfast in the morning and get the school-agers on the bus, and then help them close at the end of the day. My husband has been out of work for almost 2 years, so the extra money helps a lot. Plus, I get to know all of my son's friends and their parents which is really nice for me. We're not from the area, so it's been a great way to meet people!
Kara,
Wow - you are quite a mom! I think that it's great that you can help out at your sons daycare.
What line of work was your husband in? I'm sure he is just dying to find something - or is he working somewhere temporarily now?
